MH & Addiction Worker

Mental Health and Addiction Worker

Want to support people through mental health and addiction recovery? This diploma builds counseling, crisis response and case management skills, with the longest placement OIHI offers.

Your clinical placement is arranged. You focus on the program.

Every placement is arranged through our network of 80+ employer partners—facilities and clinics where OIHI already has established relationships, with placements close to where you live.

Placement 1 — Facility (200 hrs)

Long-term care facility. Supervised clinical practice in a structured residential setting.

Placement 2 — Community (100 hrs)

Home care or community support setting. You'll work with clients in their own environments — different situations, different needs.

300+ hours total

Supervised throughout. Every placement arranged by OIHI through our 80+ GTA employer partner network.

Financial Aid

Cost is the first question. Here are the real answers.

Financial aid is available for qualifying students, and scholarship support of up to 50% of tuition is available for qualifying PSW students. Your admissions advisor will tell you exactly what you're eligible for, for your program, before you commit to anything.

Financial-aid options exist across programs. PSW students may also qualify for up to $35,440 in Ontario Government incentives. Your admissions advisor will walk you through what applies to you.
